Mexican partners
PROMESAN Government contribution
The Mexican government has also contributed its share to support the project through its PROMESAN Program.
Institutional contributions (in-kind)
Financial support is also provided by partner institutions to cover Faculty and administrative staff salaries and wages, administrative services, professional services, consulting fees, supplies, equipment, facilities and overhead costs.
The existence of current collaborations between some of the partner institutions and the educational and research institutions with which they are affiliated suggests that there is real potential for the NAMP –TRANSport Consortium to be sustained on the long-term through new bilateral linkages. That said, the partners intend to take further steps to ensure the project’s sustainability.
They are:
- Create an institutional funding project for the continuation of the program
- Seek further linkages with industry and the public sector
- Update curriculums and promote programs which strengthen the mobility of the undergraduates students and faculty members within the consortium
- Keep track of graduates to monitor their careers and further studies (for instance, at the graduate level) in relation to the consortium activities, and offer services that may be useful to them and that enable the consortium to fund the mobility program beyond its initial funding period (database of information on regional transport, continuing education, sales of books and magazines (written by university members and others), souvenirs, donations, etc.
- Continue developing a network of universities and other institutions that wish to be a part of the consortium works
- Throughout the duration of the project and beyond, alternate sources of funding shall be obtained from the institutions and companies that participate in the internships of students participating in the mobility program. This will be facilitated by an advisory committee (which the participating institutions agreed to create), and will be composed of institutions and companies in road and rail transportation, logistics and manufacturing management, large industrial groups, customs brokerage agencies and transport ministries.
